Make Music A Career
Manage Christian Artists!
[Note: This article has affiliate links. I am very enthusiastic about what Mike Smith is offering to people interested in artist management, and I jumped at the chance to spread the word about it. It really is amazing and unusual.]
The music industry is a strange beast: it inspires multitudes of people around the globe to pursue a career as a recording artist, yet its circle of success seems tiny and exclusive (which is very frustrating for hard-working artists).
Everyone and their mother and their mother’s hairdresser’s piano teacher now has an album out — thanks to home recording technology and the ease of digital distribution. Talk about an over-saturated market.
Frankly, if I were seriously considering getting into the music industry, I’d go straight into artist development and artist management. With innumerable legions of new artists appearing out of thin air on a daily basis, it’s fair to say that demand is spiking for competent artist managers who know how to get their artists heard in all the white noise.
And if I still couldn’t give up my dream of being a recording artist, I’d still seriously consider taking some artist management classes so that I could gain some industry know-how.
This brings me to Mike Smith, one of the most successful managers in the Christian music industry (though he represents many other talents in the industry besides musicians). He’s the manager for Yancy, Salvador, Jaci Velasquez, Chonda Pierce, and quite a few other talents.
And, for the first time, he’s offering training courses on artist development and artist management. Follow this link to see his introduction video. Right next to the video you can click on a link and sign up to receive a free copy of his artist management agreement — as in, the actual agreement he uses in his contracts for his artists! He’s spent thousands of dollars to develop it, he has used it in major contracts, and it has been vetted by most of the major attorneys in the entertainment industry. It’s a priceless treasure trove of insights about how the industry works at ground level. And he’s giving you permission to use it any way you want.
Besides getting the free copy of his artist management agreement, you’ll get access to a series of teaching videos, which will begin a conversation between you and his team about artist management.
Yeah, this is an affiliate article, but it’s the first article that I’ve ever written like this. Why? Because, honestly, this is one of the coolest opportunities I’ve heard about in the music industry. Something like this doesn’t come around very often.
I’d also like to get your opinion. If you click on the link and check out his videos, come back and leave a comment with your thoughts about this very unusual opportunity!
Kevin,
Thanks for your support of my Artist Management Course. It is my hope and prayer that we will raise up a new generation of qualified artist managers and independent artists to deliver the Gospel though their music ministries around the globe.
Blessings,
Mike Smith
