Lifetime Docu-Series Little Women: LA
Interview with Cast Member Traci Harrison
Lifetime has a new docu-series called Little Women: LA, which showcases the lives and activities of a very unique group of smart, sophisticated and hilarious gal pals. They display larger-than-life personalities, huge hearts, and a sincere sense of family and friendships. And, as it turns out, all these women happen to be little people.
The show gives viewers a firsthand perspective of what it’s like to walk in a small person’s shoes as they face obstacles and triumphs that involve relationships, parenting, careers in the entertainment industry (part of the “LA” theme of the show), and the ties that bind their friendships. The show features friends Terra Jole, Tonya Banks, Elena Gant, Christy McGinity, Briana Manson, and Traci Harrison. Traci considers herself the Christian conservative one of 
the bunch. She resides in Loma Linda, California and, for the past 13 years, she has worked as an actor and regular stand-in on movies and television shows. Some of her favorite sets where she’s worked include The Bernie Mac Show and We Bought a Zoo with Matt Damon.
2014 should turn out to be a monumental year for Traci. Not only is she a star on Lifetime’s new show, but she currently attends Cal State University-San Bernardino, and she is on track to graduate this year with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Theatre Arts — and with some fascinating plans for the future (as you’ll read about below). She’s engaged to Erik Tsou, who is also a little person. They’ve been dating for three years, and they plan on tying the knot this year. They originally connected on the dating site called DateaLittle.com. A new TV show, a college degree, and a wedding: I’d say that’s a pretty good year.
Do you get teased a lot for being Christian and conservative on the show “Little Women: LA?”
Yes, sometimes I do because I am different than everyone and I am conservative. They kind of want to get me to be a little more like them and not be as conservative because sometimes they think that I am almost like a stick in the mud, and they try to get me to open up sometimes, but I try to stick to my beliefs — but, you know, nobody’s perfect. I try to do what I feel is the right thing to do.
I saw in episode one that you and your fiance go to bed at night in separate rooms. Do you really abide by the intimacy rules before marriage or is that just for the TV show?
We sleep in separate bedrooms. We live in the same house. He is from New Jersey, and he actually moved here for me. He resigned from his job and moved across the country to have a relationship with me; we are engaged and soon to be married, but until that day we sleep in separate bedrooms.
Were you all friends before the show or were you ladies brought together for the show?
Five of us were friends. We have been friends for 13 years now. One of the girls is new to the group and had hung out with us a couple of times before the show started, and she is the only one who is semi-new to the group.
Do all of the ladies have an entertainment background (i.e. movies and television)?
Yes. I am actually right now pursuing my Bachelors in the field for the entertainment industry and pursuing my teaching credentials because I want to teach children in film and television on set for academics. I enjoy being with children and would enjoy teaching them onset and being a part of that whole aspect of it.
In episode one you all were taking a dance class that you did not seem to enjoy; would you discuss this more in detail?
I’m not a person who dances like that. It was very sexual to me, and I felt very uncomfortable doing it. I am not good with faces and a lot of the other girls simply have more experience in that area of dancing like that than I do. So I just felt uncomfortable, and it was just something that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do or enjoy doing. It was really hard to do; we were all in heels. It is really hard to walk in heels, let alone try and dance in them.
Are you by any chance related to the Harrison family on the hit show “Pawn Stars?”
No, not related. I wish, but no.
